Adult Education

Learning never stops! If you are a mature student over the age of 20 and/or have been out of high school for over 2 years, you will find flexible part or full-time study options at Longbridge Academy. Many applicants mistakenly believe that the “mature student” category can substitute for a poor academic record. This is not true.To be considered a mature student you must:

Be at least 20 years old by the end of the calendar year of admission to the University;
Have been out of full-time high school studies for at least two years or have returned to upgrade after a two-year absence;
Have attempted less than one full year of studies at an accredited university or college;
Have a favourable academic record; and
Have demonstrated potential for success through academic, professional or volunteer activities and other accomplishments.

Credits that may be required for your career, post secondary education or the obtainment of your high school diploma can be acquired at our institution. The Registration process will require the examination of previous high school records and transcript or the completion of subject-specific assessment test(s) to determine the level (Grade 9 – 12) of the student. Our Adult School is available for adults who want to graduate from high school, earn Ontario secondary school credits, or upgrade marks for college and university applications. As a mature student, you can enter college as long as you pass Grade 12 Mathematics and English. The same entrance options apply for some universities as well.

We can also help you choose the proper courses required for university and college admission. We offer the option of an academic review session with our counselor. You can bring in your transcript and we will go over it with you and plan out what is best for your future school and career goals.
